If you want to lose weight and be healthy, then following a "low carb" diet is what you need to do. However, carbs come in very distinct forms and have far different effects on the body.
Good Carbs
Rich in color, flavor and nutrients. These carbs have a low Glycemic index, which means they have only a minor effect on insulin levels.
You can eat as many of these carbs as you like and still lose weight.
These carbs will make you healthy!
Bad Carbs
Lacking color, flavor and nutrients (other than artificial). These carbs have a high Glycemic index, and have a major effect on insulin levels.
Eating these carbs will cause weight gain.
Over consumption of these carbs will make you sick!
The worst carbs of all .... SUGAR.
Sugar and high-fructose corn syrup (sugar substitute) have the most detrimental effect on insulin levels.
You may be surprised to discover how much sugar is in your food.
These carbs may be killing you!
Elevated levels of insulin in the blood is the root cause of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and many cancers. The ability to live a long, healthy, disease free life is within your control. The "secret" is to eat natural, unprocessed foods.
