I have had a couple friends ask me about Uric Acid lately. Their recent blood work revealed that their uric acid levels were a little high and that could possibly lead to gout.
Their Doctors advised them that the consumption of too much meat and fish is the problem. *Sigh*
It would be nice if Doctors kept up with the research on nutrition and un-learned all that false information they were fed years ago. But, alas, nutrition is not their field of expertise.
The doctors DO keep up with the latest research on prescription drugs though and offered a chemical "solution" to the problem. Just skim over the long list of possible side effects from the drugs so that you're not surprised with the hair loss and certain body parts shriveling up! ;)
Before you give up what we were genetically designed to eat and start taking pharmaceuticals, I would recommend you read this post from Mark Sisson, who addresses this issue very well.
