Fructose

In our efforts to reduce sugar consumption, we must watch for all forms of sugar in our diet, including fructose.

Fructose is a naturally occurring sugar in fruits, and the average orange contains roughly 14 grams of sugar (from fructose).

This natural sugar is not harmful in small doses, but if it is over-consumed, it will have the same effect on insulin levels as consuming any other sugar!

So watch out for that glass of orange juice.  Even if it is all natural, it takes several oranges to make a glass of juice.  The bigger the glass, the more the oranges!

For more information on sugar in oranges, see this post from Livestrong.
