Foam Rolling

Training hard will result in tight muscles, and possibly scar tissue build up.  It is important to recover from this so that you can continue to train hard.

Using a foam roller on a regular basis can make a huge difference.  It is a form of self massage and, at a cost of roughly $30, is the cheapest physical therapy money can buy!

It will help to relieve tight muscles, remove scar tissue, and assist your mobility and flexibility work.

Like deep tissue massage, it can be painful at first.  Start slowly and build up.  The healthier your soft tissue, the less painful it will be.  So, if it hurts, you KNOW you need to be doing it!  And, you can do it any time.  It takes only 15 minutes and it can be done practically anywhere.

This article has some great information on how to get started using the foam roller.
