There are three common obstacles to learning the overhead squat.
- First, is the scarcity of skilled instruction.
- Second, is a weak squat. You need to have a rock solid (basic) squat first.
- Third, is starting with too much weight. Practice the technique with a wooden dowel or any length of pipe (less than five pounds) until you can perform it with excellent form before adding any weight.
